The Airport Board is thrilled to welcome Jimmy Mendonca to the Airport Board. Jimmy is a lifelong aviation enthusiast, entrepreneur, and community leader dedicated to advancing general aviation in North Texas. Jimmy brings extensive aviation experience to the board as the Chief Instructor for the Dallas Skydive Center and the Dallas Flight Center, both based at the Caddo Mills Airport. Jimmy has played a key role in expanding aviation access, training, and recreational opportunities in the region. He brings extensive operational experience in airport-based businesses, safety management, and aviation education.
With over 13,000 skydives, he holds qualifications as an FAA-certified parachute rigger and a Tandem Instructor Examiner. His background in skydiving operations provides a unique and valuable perspective on the airport's activities. His insight into both the commercial and recreational sides of aviation makes him a valuable voice on the Airport Board, where he advocates for infrastructure improvements, pilot engagement, and long-term sustainability of the airport as a regional asset.
Jimmy routinely volunteers for the airport and selflessly assists stranded aviators who have used the Caddo Mills Airport as a quick divert airfield. A resident of Caddo Mills, Jimmy is passionate about maintaining the airport’s welcoming, community-oriented environment while fostering growth that benefits local pilots, businesses, and residents alike.
